Frequently asked questions
Do you do eye exams?
No — New Optix is an optical shop. We make and fit glasses and supply contact lenses. We fill prescriptions from any eye doctor.
Can I use a prescription from another eye doctor?
Yes. Bring a current prescription from any optometrist or ophthalmologist. If you only have your old glasses, we can read the lenses to help you pick a frame, but a new pair should be made from a current prescription.
How long does it take to get new glasses?
Most glasses are ready in about 3 business days because we cut and fit lenses in our own in-store lab. Specialty lenses (high prescriptions, some progressives, certain coatings) are made by the lens manufacturer and can take longer — we'll tell you the expected date when you order.
Do you take my vision insurance?
We accept most major vision insurance plans, including EyeMed, as well as Medicare and HMO plans. Call with your plan name and member ID and we’ll check your benefits before you come in.
Can you put new lenses in my current frame?
Yes, even if the frame was bought somewhere else, as long as it is in good condition. We inspect every frame first and tell you about any risk.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome for frame shopping and adjustments. If you want unhurried help choosing progressives or a large order, calling ahead helps us set aside time.
Do you speak Korean?
Yes. We can help you in English and Korean.
Bring your prescription — or your favorite frame — and we’ll take it from there.
